We talked with the campsite hosts and found out that they thought watching sunrise at Mammoth Springs was a good idea. George managed to get me up before sunrise and drive for about 30 minutes to Mammoth Springs. Here are some of the interesting shots I took. One thing to note when looking at the photos, colour changes depending on how hot the springs are. White springs are hotter than orange ones. This post has a lot of pictures.

Sounds like the two of you are having a great time!
Keep the photos coming - the third from the top is my fav.
The mineral deposits are just awesome. I saw a postcard from Turkey with large pools where people can lie and take advantage of the healing power of the salts. Wonder if there were any sulphur springs.
Is that a warm jacket that George is wearing?
And, where are you going next?

George is wearing his rain coat and probably a sweater underneath. It was pretty cold that morning until the sun came up.
After Yellowstone we went to Grand Tetons, but those pictures will have to wait for another post. Right now we are on our way to Zion.
Absolutely gorgeous pictures Carolyn - I'm glad you guys are having a good time. Makes me itchy to take pictures of my own. Thanks for keeping us updated!

You guys are getting some pretty good shots there! Looks like you're still having a good time. I'm excited to see more pictures when you get home.
